where art thou?

yeah i'm talking about romeo+juliet, my favourite movie of all time.. geezzz i really adore this movie, especially the story behind it. i'm sure you know it, but if you haven't watched it, i RECOMMEND you to do it. i bet you'll like it. there's sort of feeling when i watch this movie, like i'm really into it. actually, i don't know whyyy i like this movie so much hahaha.. yeah, you know it's just a simple love story between romeo montague and juliet capulet since the day they met each other, like love at first sight.. but there's something behind it.. the language, the character, the post-modernism concept (haha d'uh post-modernism..). why post-modernism? yeah, for you who haven't heard this term before.. the story of romeo+juliet were made by william shakespeare in the 18th century (i guess...hahahahaha i'm not sure), and it still got the old english background, such as the language which for me, i understood it hardly at the first time i heard.

directed by baz luhrmann

oohhh i love starring at this movie poster. lovely, isn't it? basically, this movie is just that simple, but rather be complicated, huh? it is all about love, love and love.. but it is covered beneath the jealousy, selfish, lies, passion, competition, friendship and family. goshh, this movie is sooo patriarchal.. and conservative, i guess. juliet has to follow what her father wants, instead of being kicked from home. there is also a scene of which her father slaps her mother and screams at her loudly. this movie was made in 1996 and i still remember when i was 8 or 9 years old i sang the movie soundtrack titled "love fool" by the cardigans. "love me love me.. say that you love me.. fool me fool me.. go on and fool me.." hahaha some kind of like that. this movie (honestly) really scared me much that day, because the scene of which romeo drinks the poison and juliet shot herself was really spooky for me. and now i was like - what the helllll??? it's just a sad ending scene, and there's nothing to scare about. hahahaha foolish meee..
